I believe that we all have stories that we carry with us. Some of these stories build us up and some bring us down. I also believe that we are relational beings who are trying to maintain an individual identity as well as the identity we hold in relationship.
My own story of brought me to Seattle from the Deep South where I received my Masters in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University. I started my journey toward AASECT Certification and Developmental Model training right after school because I am passionate about working with couples and sex therapy. My own story has been filled with personal grief of past self, sadness of friendships evolving, joy of the life I am in now, connection with my body (healing from years of an eating disorder and having a few autoimmunes), and working to find more authentic relationships with the people in my life.
Living in Tacoma with my husband and very energetic border collie-lab Dublin, my life is full of community, reading, moving my body, yoga, gardening, art/crafting, EPL and soccer, Bravo, travel, seeing movies at The Grand and cooking.
I share this to say, you're not alone and I see us all as human trying to find connection and feel whole in ourselves. If you think we'd be a good fit, reach out for a consultation call.
Kindly,
Allie Peyton, LMFT, CST
